New York City - December 7-10, 2006

Page One

Visiting New York City at Christmas Time is both beautiful and risky! The weather was very cold 2 of our 3 days in the city, but it was very beautifully decorated.

Here is Laura near Rockefeller Plaza. The building at the back is Saks, decorated up for Christmas.

On Friday, we were on our own much of the day. We started out at the Today Show, but it was so cold that we left and went to a deli for breakfast and warmth.

We then went to the NBC studios for a tour, went to the "Top of the Rock", the observation lookouts at the top of Rockefeller Tower about 70 floors up, and generally wandered the area.

This is pretty much turned the opposite way of the top photo.

The Rockefeller Plaza tree is huge and beautiful The top is decorated with a Swarovski crystal star. The ice rink is at the base of the tree.

The tree and the rink.

Laura had wanted to skate, but the lines were so long that we couldn't get tickets.

So, we did many other things instead!

A better look at some of the decorations in the plaza between Rockefeller Plaza and Saks.
