A Fishy Hears a Who...

This project was also INCREDIBLY fun!  It is a fabric collage, using the technique taught in "Free Style Quilts" by Susan Carlson.  Each individual piece on the fish is a separate piece of fabric, carefully cut to shape and selected for it's design.  The pink-and-yellow fabric that forms the top fin of the fish is actually part of a large calla-lily fabric!

I call this fish my "Dr. Suess Fish" because the stylized fins look like something out of a Dr. Suess book.

This photo shows detail of the face; the lips use a "mandarin orange" fabric, and the way they were edge-quilted causes them to puff out, adding personality to the fish.

The eye is made up of a flower fabric
