Black Hills and Eastern Wyoming
October 2004 - Page Three

We drove into the Wyoming portion of the Black Hills National Forest, then just wandered about, heading generally north.

We parked the truck and hiked up a short hill, and at the top of the hill we were greeted with this wonderful view of Devils Tower National Monument. What a great surprise it was!

The photos below are of animals encountered in Custer State Park, within the Black Hills. Since it was October and "migration" time, we saw more mountain goats than I've ever seen before. There were herds by the hundreds all over the place, including surrounding the cabins at the Legion Lake Lodge!
